The Town of Fort Smith and the Town of Hay River are proud to be co-hosting the 2018 Arctic Winter Games.

Slave River Paddlefest

World-class big water paddling, 24-hour daylight, warm water and good friends – what’s not to love!

Paddlefest includes instructional clinics, river trips, and fun, friendly competitions. There are events and fun activities for kayaks, canoes, Stand Up Paddle Boards (SUPs), voyageur canoes, kids and adults.

The Slave River offers every type of paddling imaginable: from flatwater canoeing around beautiful islands to wild whitewater. Bring your kayak, canoe, SUP or raft and join us for a paddling experience you’ll never forget!

Thebacha & Wood Buffalo Dark Sky Festival

August 18-20, 2017

The annual Dark Sky Festival is a celebration of the return of dark skies to our northern latitude (60°N) and is hosted during the third weekend of August. Festival activities take place in Fort Smith, NWT and the in world's largest Dark Sky Preserve, Wood Buffalo National Park.

HIIT Fitness Class

 

Get your day started with a HIIT. This is a 30 minute workout that will get you moving for the day. Great for anyone looking for a workout, from beginners to regular workout enthusiasts.

Meet at the track at 7am every Tuesday and Thursday starting June 20, 2017. This is a free drop in class.

National Trail Day! - Celebrate and Hike with us!

 

Join us on Saturday, August 26 for a hike along our favourite trails between Fort Fitzgerald, Alberta and Fort Smith, NWT along the Slave River.

We will have snacks, safety and opportunities to hike for as long or as short as you would like!
